MARINA DIRECTIONS
   
SCROLL BELOW FOR DIRECTIONS TO EACH DOCK WITHIN THIS MARINA.
   
  Aqualand Marina (Sailing Outings)
6800 Lights Ferry Rd, Flowery Branch, GA 30542 - (770) 967-6811
  From I-85:
  1. Take I-85 north to 985
  2. Take Exit #8 (Friendship Rd) turn LEFT onto Ga 347
  3. After several red lights (1.5 miles), turn RIGHT onto McEver Road
  4. At the 2nd red light (approx 4 miles) turn LEFT onto Lights Ferry Rd.
  5. Stop at the guard gate and get a parking pass. 
  6. Mention that you are students of the Windsong Sailing Academy
   
  From 400: Alternative #1
  1. Take Ga 400 north to Windward Parkway (Exit #11). Turn Right (EAST)
  2. Take Windward to McGinnis Ferry Rd.  Turn RIGHT (EAST)
  3. Take McGinnis Ferry Rd to Sargeant Rd (actually continuation of McGinnis).
  4. Take McGinnis Ferry/Sargeant Rd to Peachtree Industrial Blvd/McEver Rd, turn LEFT.
  5. Go approximately 14 miles to the red light at Lights Ferry Rd, turn LEFT.
  6. Stop at the guard gate and get a parking pass.
  7. Mention that you are students of the Windsong Sailing Academy
   
  From 400: Alternative #2                 MAY TAKE LONGER DUE TO TRAFFIC!
  1. Take Ga 400 north to exit #14.
  2. Turn RIGHT onto Route 20 and head EAST. CAN BE A LONG SLOW ROAD!
  3. Go 9 miles to Peachtree Industrial Blvd/McEver Rd, turn LEFT.
  4. Go approximately 9 miles to the red light at Lights Ferry Rd, turn LEFT.
  5. Stop at the guard gate and get a parking pass.
  6. Mention that you are students of the Windsong Sailing Academy
   
 

 Satellite Drive is a good alternative to I-85 or Peachtree Ind Blvd in times of traffic
 

Satellite starts at Beaver Ruin and ends at Ga 20
   
DOCK DIRECTIONS

 

There are 3 dock locations inside Aqualand Marina.
Your Admission Ticket indicates which
 of the following 3 apply to your reservation.

 
  ZH-14 (Catalina-27)
  1. Tell them that you are sailing from Dock ZH-14.
  2. Take the second LEFT (2/10ths of a mile) to docks.   
    Directional sign says" "ZF-ZP".
  3. At the next stop sign, the rest rooms will be on the left. Pay them a visit!
  4. Turn RIGHT at the stop sign and go to the end of the parking log.
  5. Dock ZH is the last walkway on the left.
  6. The dock slip is ZH-14, two-thirds the way down the dock on the right. At our dock there will be a small "Windsong" sign hanging on the side of the dock near the starboard bow. If the boat is missing, don't be alarmed. We're probably out teaching and will return at the appointed time.

SPECIAL NOTES:
  Dock ZB has been relocated as an extension of Dock Z.
The Colgate is on Dock ZB-32.
The Trimaran has been moved to Dock Y-1a.

Your Admission Ticket reflects the correct Dock assignment.

 

 

  ZB-32 (Colgate 26)
   
  YOU WILL NOT BE ABLE TO FIND THIS BOAT W/O THESE DIRECTIONS!
    
   1. Tell them that you are sailing from Dock ZB-32.
   2. Continue ahead and take the 2nd paved right to docks.  
     Directional sign says "Docks X-ZD" turn right. 
   3. Stop at the rest rooms on the left to ensure you're READY for your outing.
   4. Continue down the road to the parking lot at the end of the road.
   5. The parking lot at the end services docks X, Y, Z & ZD.
     Docks ZA & ZB have also been relocated to this area. Park anywhere.
   6. Take the walkway across from the red dumpsters toward the lake to Dock Z.
   7. The walkway passes dock Y before reaching dock Z.
   8. Continue down the walkway until you reach dock Z.
   9. Walk down the Dock Z ramp and take the 1st right onto the side docks.
  10.This ramp leads to docks ZA and ZB.
  11. Halfway down ZA is a light pole in the middle of the walkway.
     This is the end of the original dock ZA.  Dock ZB begins here.
  12. Continue down the ramp until you reach ZB-32. 
  13. The dock numbers are indicated by small metal numbered signs on the dock near the bow of each boat. There is a "Plan Your Escape" Windsong sign at the slip for the Colgate.  If the boat is missing, don't be alarmed. We're probably out teaching and will return at the appointed time.

  Y-1a (F-24 Trimaran)
  1. Tell them that you are sailing from Dock Y-1a.
  2. Continue ahead and take the 2nd paved right to docks.   
    Directional sign says "X-ZD".
  3. Stop at the rest rooms on the left to ensure you're READY for your outing.
  4. Continue down the road to the parking lot at the end of the road.
  5. The parking lot at the end services docks X, Y, Z & ZD. Park anywhere.
  6. Take the walkway across from the red dumpsters toward the lake to Dock Y.
  7. The Trimaran slip is the first sailboat on the left. Y-1a.
  8. The dock numbers are indicated by small metal numbered signs on the dock near the bow of each boat. At our dock there will be a "Plan Your Escape" Windsong sign on the dock near the bow. If the boat is missing, don't be alarmed. We're probably out teaching and will return at the appointed time.
